Feel Good Inside Out – Detox

How are we doing today? Great, right!!

I know it has been a long and tiring day, and you feel lethargic. Energies are down, and the body is moving in slow motion. I feel you! Today’s post is about detox, but it not about spiritual detox; instead, it is about physical detox. The body is a temple, a place where our holy spirit stays. So for your quick reading, here are three easy detox rituals that can make you feel good about yourself inside out?

Oil Pulling: Oil pulling involves swishing oil around the mouth and has been used for thousands of years as an Indian folk remedy. To oil pull, you put a tablespoon of oil in your mouth, then swish it around for 15-20 minutes (I use coconut oil). Do not swallow the oil and spit it in the trash (not in the sink because it can lead to clogging). The main benefit of doing this is that it reduces the number of harmful bacteria in the mouth. Oral health is a crucial part of overall health.

Lemon – Honey morning ritual: Drinking honey and lemon mixed with warm water every morning on an empty stomach is beneficial for the digestive system. My nutritionist told me that it balances the acid in your stomach and aids in weight loss.

Epsom Salt Bath: A cup or two of Epsom salt in a bath relieves pain specifically, muscle pain from over-exertion.  Light a candle and soak yourself in a luxurious Epsom salt bath.  Make sure you are well hydrated and keep a cold water bottle on your bathtub side (since your body is in detox mode so it can make you feel dehydrated) Note: Please consult your physician if you have any allergies/health problems related to Epsom salt.
