Two sides of a Coin

Today, I had an interesting conversation with my dear friend, who told me that she feels weird sometimes about herself, sometimes she is super happy, and sometimes everything gets on her nerves. She feels full of positive vibes, and sometimes she thinks she the most cynical person on the earth. She said, Jas, I don’t think I am normal. Well, when I was listening to her, I could relate to her viewpoint and emotions. I told her, it is reasonable; everyone feels this conflict, these two energies flowing within us. Like a coin, we all have two sides to our personality. Both positive and negative, both happy and sad, both focused and distracted. It is all about the toss of the moment that decides which side will come up. You control that. Your reaction depends on you, do not give steering wheel of your persona to someone else. Be aware of both sides of your mind’s coin.  Awareness of your account helps you to have a clear vision. Be in touch with your soul.

I would like to share a story that I have read a few years back and still value it.

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy. “It is a terrible fight, and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”

The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”

The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

I hope you enjoy reading this story. Do not feel upset if your desired side does not come up, simply toss the coin again.

Love and Sunshine.
